Exclamation URGENT ADVISE AND HELP NEEDED.

This is a 50/50 position we are in, please ask as many people as you can as quick as you can.

Dolly has a stomach void, this has enabled her spleen, kidney's and gut to entangle. There is a 50% chance of it clearing it's self but the spleen has enlarged due to lack of blood.

We will try tonight if things worsen or do not get better to put her on a winch turn her upside and hopefully it will unwrap it'self.

Otherwise the option is surgery to disentangle or lose her.

The problem is; it will happen again if the organs are not stitched together which my vet has not done before. It is normally done laproscopically which means Paris or Belguim and considerable costs - sorry guy's after Fleur - we need to consider this and the succesfullnes and welfare of the animal after surgery. Her ovaries are also producing to many eggs.

WE NEED TO KNOW IF ANYONE HAS HAD EXPERIENCE OF THIS AND IF THEY KNOW WHO ELSE WE CAN TALK TO ABOUT THE ONGOING CHANCES AFTER SURGERY, IF THE SURGERY HAS WORKED FOR OTHERS THEN WE WILL TRY.

We are so desperate I will post my number 0033 (0)233 500 872.

Many thanks for any help time effort and costs that anyone may incure in trying to help us.

I have just been advised by a top top vet in the UK that if the turning doesn't work. To let her go.

Total devastation here.

We need to know if anyone has had the organ adjoining procedure done and it's success if any.

I was actually thinking, as I was scrolling through these posts, that if she were mine I would try the turning, and if that didn't work then I would let her go. Operations are no small thing for these animals of ours, especially anything to do with the guts, and especially if there is no guarantee of it being a 100% solution. It is always easy to make the choice when you are not directly involved. And really only you and your family can make it as she is your hrose and you know her best etc.

I really feel for you and your family HB and my thoughts are with you.

At least what has been found explains her behaviour too, the too many eggs proves that she is hormonally imbalanced, and maybe her feeling uncomfortable in her guts has affected her behaviour too.

I know you all think highly of this mare, which makes it all the more difficult to make the right choice.

Keeping everything crossed for you.

I would second Lenormand too as he has a fantastic reputation in the west of france. Buzzy took Oxbow there.

Thinking of you at this horrid time
